at the point where madness and clarity unite

the outer and inner collide
as awareness within a distorted illusion

Takk fyrir Svartidauði, this is some dark and cathartic Icelandic Black Metal. The vocals shriek from beyond, and the instrumentation dissonant and soul crushing.

Tout est une question de perspective. En regardant la pochette d'Algleymi, on se dira : "c'est un constat d'échec de l'humanité face aux puissances cosmiques". Mais le gigantisme de cette silhouette est un signe que Misþyrming veut plutôt s'emparer de cette puissance et le black metal le confirmera très vite. Il est plus maîtrisé, massif et épique. Si le chant est déjà impressionnant, dégageant plus de haine, les guitares sont de leur côté absolument monumentales. Un chef-d'œuvre du genre !

Every song on 'Sol Nox' is worth being chosen as a favourite. On top of that the album is way more evil and aggressive than 'Thaumiel' and such circles back to the earlier days of Ofermod. But with a modern edge and a first class production to it. I love Ofermod in general and 'Sol Nox' in particular. Exceptionally well done!
